1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit editehome.com (the "Site") or join our waitlist.

Edite is currently in a pre-launch phase, and the Site is available to visitors in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.

2. What we collect

When you join the Edite waitlist, we collect the information you provide in the signup form:

    • First name
    • Last name
    • Email address
    • Renovation stage (your selection describing the project your Edite bathroom will be part of)

We also collect limited technical information automatically when you use the Site, such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies — see section 6 below.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health, financial, or government identifiers), and we ask that you do not submit it through the Site.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

    • Add you to and manage the Edite waitlist
    • Send you updates about Edite, including news about our launch, products, and early access opportunities
    • Build advertising audiences so we can reach you, and people with similar interests, with Edite advertising on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok — see section 6
    • Understand interest in Edite across our markets, including analysing waitlist signups in aggregated or de-identified form to inform business and product decisions
    • Operate, secure, and improve the Site
    • Comply with our legal obligations

We only send you marketing communications where you have opted in via the signup form. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or emailing privacy@editehome.com.

4. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Site and communicate with you:

    • HubSpot — our customer relationship management and email platform, which hosts the waitlist data you submit
    • Shopify — our eCommerce and website platform
    • Google (Google Analytics 4) — website analytics
    • Meta and TikTok — advertising and measurement services, via pixels on the Site and, if you have joined our waitlist, through matched advertising audiences (see section 6)

These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to us. We may also disclose personal information where required by law, or in connection with a restructure or transfer of the Edite business (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information).

5. Overseas disclosure

Our service providers store and process data outside your country of residence, primarily in the United States. This means that if you are in Australia or New Zealand, your personal information will be disclosed to recipients overseas.

Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, including through our contractual arrangements with service providers.

6. Cookies, tracking and advertising audiences

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, including:

    • Essential cookies required for the Site to function
    • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4, HubSpot) to understand how the Site is used
    • Advertising pixels (Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel) to measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising

Custom and lookalike audiences

If you join our waitlist, we may upload limited information (such as your email address) to advertising platforms including Meta and TikTok in order to:

    • show Edite advertising to you on those platforms ("custom" or "matched" audiences); and
    • ask the platform to show our advertising to other people with characteristics similar to our waitlist ("lookalike" or "similar" audiences).

Before upload, this information is hashed — converted into a scrambled code — so the platform can match it against its own user base without receiving your details in readable form. These platforms are only permitted to use the uploaded information to provide advertising services to us, and it is not made available to other advertisers.

You can opt out of your information being used to build advertising audiences at any time by emailing privacy@editehome.com, and we will exclude your details from future audience uploads. You can also control the advertising you see through your Meta and TikTok ad settings, linked above.

7. How long we keep your information

We retain waitlist information while Edite is in its pre-launch and launch phases. [Default for review: if Edite does not proceed to launch, we will delete or de-identify waitlist data within 12 months of that decision. We will otherwise retain your information for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless a longer period is required by law.] If you unsubscribe from communications, we retain the minimum information necessary to honour your opt-out.

8. How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Your waitlist data is held in HubSpot, which maintains its own technical and organisational security measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

If you are in Australia

We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting privacy@editehome.com. If you have a complaint about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

If you are in New Zealand

We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting privacy@editehome.com. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.

If you are in the United States

You may contact us at privacy@editehome.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, some US state privacy laws treat the use of advertising pixels and matched advertising audiences (see section 6) as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. You may opt out of this sharing at any time by emailing privacy@editehome.com or using the opt-out tools listed in section 6 and your browser and platform settings.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy rights.

10. Children

The Site and our waitlist are not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@editehome.com and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on the Site, with the "Last updated" date shown at the top. If we make material changes to how we use your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by email or a notice on the Site.
